

Resident Engineer
Job Description
GEMMACON is seeking a Resident Engineer with expertise in electronics and embedded software. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development and integration of lighting systems, as well as software development for embedded platforms, particularly in the automotive sector. This project offers the possibility of extended travel to the Client's headquarters in California, USA.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues in lighting systems.
- Integrate smaller lighting components into larger systems.
- Design and implement software on NXP embedded platforms using FreeRTOS.
- Utilize communication protocols such as CAN, UART, I2C, and ADC for system integration and control.
- Develop in C++ with a strong focus on object-oriented programming.
- Design and create CANOE simulations (Vector CANOE, CAPL) for communication systems.
- Analyze and optimize electronic architecture, including circuit design and diagnostics.
- Participate in the design and testing of lighting systems, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct rapid testing and verification of designs on test benches and prepare improvement proposals.
- Monitor testing processes to ensure all actions are aligned with schedules and quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in electronic design and embedded software, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in C++ programming with experience in embedded systems and object-oriented design.
- Experience with RTOS systems, particularly FreeRTOS, and the NXP platform.
- Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, UART, I2C, ADC) and experience with CANOE simulations (Vector CANOE, CAPL).
- Ability to work with advanced design and engineering tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink).
- Experience in implementing and optimizing systems compliant with quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASPICE).- Capability to work independently and manage projects with a strong focus on deadlines.
